I just got home from checking out the falls. It was a lot of driving today, but it was way worth it. It was like giant icicles. You could hear the water raging under the giant frozen tube of water. I don't think it was as frozen as it was initially though.

It's been a lot warmer here in the Gorge for the last few days, so I'm sure you're right. That's a great spectacle when it's really frozen up though. There are some prime ice climbing spots a bit to the west of Multnomah Falls near Rooster Rock, FWIW. The strong winds can be pretty hairy in that end of the Gorge at this time of the year. A lot of trees came down last week around there.

We could tell. Some spots on the shoulder of 84 looked like someone was clearing land. It wasn't too windy when we were there, but enough to make it real chilly.
