...and I'm looking for rounds. What are some high tension roundwounds that you all have tried? I've only ever used daddario strings on both guitar and bass (except a five year old set of fender flats), so I'm pretty uninitiated when it comes to different brands/flavors.

I really like DR Highbeams not really high tension but they last a while. And boil up nicely for an extra 2 weeks of use.

I need the tension. I've played flats exclusively on my basses for years and have become accustomed to the feel... There's got to be a set of rounds that are higher tension than most.

I really like Oasis strings. Nice high tension, roundwound, good price and long lasting.

D'Addarios can be pretty high tension, just go up a gauge if you want more. Circle K maybe

Check out rotosound solo bass 55. I have a set on one of my basses and another bass is strung with Rotosound 77, which is their high tension flat. I can't tell the difference in tension between the two, ymmv.

check you out some La Bella strings
get a triple play for cheap- 3 sets sampler
or just throw some NPS/Slappers on there. If you want steel strings, check the deep talkin or hard rockin.
