I've got Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive, which is nice, but I don't see it as "always on" pedal. just ordered VT1-EQ-Bass-drive from DHA. sound samples for anything from DHA are nice. wish it was cheaper tho.

As a current CM2 user, having previously owned a PhatPhuk, PorkLoin, and SFT, and been curious about the Valve Distortion, these sound samples reaffirmed that the CM2 is the right overdrive for me. Now if only I can get my hands on a Green Rhino to compare the two.

They are quite similar. I borrowed my guitarists Rhino to try out and they do sound similar. There was no reason to replace my CM-2 with the Rhino, though. The CM2 has the added high end control.

Another great pedal for a light breakup is the Earthquaker Devices Speaker Cranker. I use it to push my other dirt (rat tail and pro co rat) as well.
