G-string is a skinnier, twangier string. I use a sort of custom set that runs .045, .065, .080, .100. Keeps some depth/fullness in the high notes. Can try something like that but make sure your bass is set up good first. A string vibrating in the saddle or the nut slot, or against a fret can kill your sound.
