i've ordered a stingray, but trouble

Jeez--do people look for threads to be condescending jackasses when answering questions?

Seriously--this is a limited edition Stingray that, as of Friday the 13th, can no longer be ordered. Something tells me that if the OP ends up not buying it that the store will have no trouble getting rid of the bass.

As for "modding" an original, give me a break. There are so many things special about the 20th SR5 that there is no way you could get the same thing from a regular SR5. Not to mention the fact that the 20th will only increase in value while any mods will decrease the value of a regular SR5.

Sheesh....

I don't know about these "people" you mention, but I know I do!

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of Stingrays?

Hey, original 20th SR5 guy - you're going to love this bass.

Of course they do.*

You shoulda seen Usenet before these web-based moderated forums were around. Things are really pretty tame in here.

* I started to write "Of course they do, you moron" as recursive irony, but I appreciate that some folks do not share my somewhat twisted sense of humor.:D

It's pretty badass, believe me.

Best sounding bass I have ever played. Seriously.

I just have no need for another expensive bass and I really don't want to sell my Bongo and Lakland to finance the purchase.

Having said that.......

DrMcCool,

L&M are good people (Oshawa anyways) and they WILL likely hold the bass for you for another month or 2. I would tell them about your situation and see what they will do. If they have MOST of the bass paid for they will likely be accomidating. Also, their autodebit financing isn't great but the rate is better than a credit card.

I don't recommend going into debt for a bass but this is a bass that you won't be able to buy in a few months and $2500CAD is the absolute best you will find this bass in Canada for (trust me, I looked everywhere for a cheaper price). IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR IT.

Good luck!

Hmmm:hmm:

I went in to order a rosewood HS model, figuring I'll pay it in 6 months, but they had the exact model already on order!!!!!:hyper: :hyper:

Picked it up this week, and put 1500$ on credit until september. :hiding: So don't feel too bad. But I'll tell you one thing, this beast sounds amazing!!!! Position 4 sounds F@#!en HUGE!!! Worth every extra penny.

I expected to hear a difference between the 20th and regular production SR5s, but I didn't really expect the difference to be so audible.

I've had a slew of single H Stingray 5s and all of them were excellent basses, but this thing is just WAY different.
