Ready, Willing, and Able. P.M. me.Although, if you are willing to make a trip to Mexico and then to Miami, I have a "contact" that might have a job for you. He'll provide the car, just drive and don't ask any questions.![]()
Do you NEED that particular bass? If that were me, I'd cancel the order and either get something more affordable, or just plain wait. I would never go into debt for gear unless my salary depended on it.
drmckool,
Go for it, don't let these guys discourage you in taking that relatively tiny loan to get your bass.
Only you know you can have it paid off very quickly right?
I always use my credit card to buy my gear, although I do have cash to buy things outright. Simply because: buyer protection from the card company, and alot of times the ease of mail order gear from other states for no tax.
So there's nothing wrong in what you're doing.
To some of these other guys I ask:
Why go to college when you don't have the $40k in your pocket?
Why Buy a home? 30 y ear loan is a long time huh?
And to eedre,
Taking a new bass and modding it is the fastest way of killing the value of it...so where would that leave him now? Especially since a 20th anniversary will be worth the same in 10 yrs as it is today.
And besides, you cannot mod a standard SR5 to be like a 20th, the bodies and electronics are different from the factory, let alone the stunning finish.

Also, before you guys bite my head off for speculating the reasons for buying this bass as opposed to getting the standard, keep in mind that I was only asking, and didn't know these things - sheesh.![]()
no i ordered it into the store. as in i asked them could you order this bass for me and hold it for as long as possible (1 month) if i don't pay for it within a month then all that'll happen is it will go on the floor and anyone can buy it
Except that you were offering advice to the original poster w/o all the facts, ie the question you asked had not been answered yet.
So instead of answering, snap back - gotcha.
fenderjazz68 said:So, they ordered the bass on the expectation that you will take it, and if you don't they have to pay for it and hope it sells.
L&M offers the pay 20% and take it home. Then you pay monthly.
Ask them if you can switch to that.
if that's what you did, it's your fault![]()
