I hate to be boring, but a sunburst Jazz with a tort guard and rosewood fretboard is, in my opinion, still the classiest-looking bass there is.

+1 on Lemmy's and Rics in general.

There are lots of gorgeous one-off custom made exotics with beautiful grains and stylings, but IMHO Rickenbackers are the best looking basses ever. Timeless beauty.
