I’m gonna live forever!!!

You beat me to it. I was about to post the same video.

Not to derail, but I just recently joined a singer/guitarist and a drummer that needed a bass player. We play this song along with many others that I've never heard before. They're both a decade older than me and grew up listening to this genre of music. Me, not so much, more of Sabbath, Zep, Deep Purple and later Iron Maiden. What a contrast to go from " die, die with your boots on if your gonna die" to " I'm gonna live forever"

Having fun with it though, and always good to expand the bass playing vocabulary

We are all guitarists here. BASS guitarists yes, but still guitarists. Unless you play upright exclusively, in which case you'd be a (bass) violinist.

Or, as the lead guitarist in my first garage band did it, which was to introduce himself to the audience as the sophisticated guitarist and then introduce me as the base guitarist.

I think we are going down the wrong path, here. Some decades ago a scientific paper was published that asserted that the way to a long life was a steady regimen of alcohol, salads and sex. Some wag newspaper reporter got wind of the article and wrote a summary under the headline, "If Rabbits Drank, They'd Live Forever!"

AI, again?

AI struggles with depicting human body parts like feet, hands, fingers. To AI we are all mutants. Everything about AI is hideous from its thieving beginning to its job destroying mediocrity. It's just cheap enough and stupid enough to take over many former human livelihoods. Greed always wins, it seems.

I started playing bass in a band last winter that sprung it on me 1st time I'd heard it at this aforementioned gig in March.

I'm gonna live forever!!!

I really like your bands version of the song. Great playing as well

Thanks.

I was already dear-in-headlights, being the new guy in a band that never rehearses. I thought, "wait - this doesn't sound like anything from the set list. I don't even think I've ever heard it."

2-3 nights a week since then and there're still at least a couple surprises a night.

There's a reason I'm set up on stage-right with a clear view of the BL's fretting hand.
