I like Mike too!! I could swear I said something about all posts bashing someone without reason would be deleted....Looks like I have some work to do.

I thought we were talking about Jack Blades here! I dont know if u guys know, but Nightranger is only one of two rock bands i know whose bassist writes or co-writes most of the songs.I think that is impressive for a band with two hotshot guitarists. The other band is Kix with Donnie Purnel on bass. How many other rock bands do u guys know where the bassist is the main writing force? Most of the time, the guitarist and/or the vocalist are the ones who will do the writing, leaving the bassist and drummer to come in later and do their "thing".I think that should change.Jack Blades gets my respect.

Incidently,I dont know of many rock drummers who writes entire songs either. The only ones that do are probably Peter Criss of Kiss,Will Calhoun of Living colour and Kelly Keaggy of Nightranger.

How could I have forgotten about all those people!I must really have been sleeping.Anyway I thought Neil Peart only wrote lyrics, leaving the rest to Geddy and Alex!

But whatever it is , I think that all bassists and drummers should study harmony and chordal instruments and write more. Are we here to improve as musicians/bassists/drummers or what?
