cream is a more musical approach. Jack Bruce is the reason I play bass. Zeppelin is a different approach. Nowadays I cant listen to either.
No prob. I was just pointing out why many don't consider Page a great songwriter, that's all.
I personally think his strength is as a GREAT producer with a wonderful understanding of dynamics and the sound and texture of instruments.

Cream may have been the more talented band, but Zep didn't write many bad songs. I love Cream, but they're ego's couldn't even survive, what?... Two friggin' years.

Technicalities...
Mind you , I'm no fan of either band.
Cream was the pinnacle of Rock , a musicians band . Zeppelin was for non-musicians , acid heads , etc . Clapton did and does make 99.9% of his notes matter , Page was sloppy and unimaginative . Hendrix was not human , above all comparison .
