No one has mentioned Jack as a composer, or if so I missed it.
Deserted Cities of the Heart
Never Tell Your Mother She's Out of Tune
We're Going Wrong
Morning Story
And that's ignoring the incredible hit songs everyone knows.

Interestingly, Jones wrote many of Zeppelin's heavier (and notey) riffs - including Black Dog, Out On The Tiles and I believe Heartbreaker.
Sorry MIKEY, but you FAIL, and FAIL horribly!!!
Jack Bruce is a bad bass player, even worse singer!
End of discussion.![]()
Great post.
(Actually, the very end is: "And... she's buy-i-inGUH stairway [little sob] ... [oh-so-pretentious pause]... to hea-vu-UNN...")

Jack's always been out there. On one of his solo albums, after Cream, he's on the front cover cramming "wieners and mash down his gob"
That's just scratching the surface. In addition to "Morning Story", "Harmony Row" is full of incredible material, including:
Victoria Sage
Post War
Can You Follow
Consul at Sunset
Folk Song
You Burned the Tables on Me
And let's not forget that Jack played every instrument on there, except for electric guitar and drums. And he claims to have written all the music IN ONE AFTERNOON.
Believe me, I do appreciate John Paul Jones's musicianship and versatility, but Jack has extraordinary talent.
I haven't seen a discussion this childish since I was 14 years old.
That it was initiated by a crack from one of rock's elder statesmen is even more hilarious. Surely he's got better things to do.
No, he probably doesn't have better things to do...
well i don't like cream or zepplin much, but i have adapted somewhat of an anti-clapton policy due to his ego that is way bigger than his talent. I think these bands were all decent back in the day and it just got to their heads. i saw a video of jack bruce playing a recent show and it made me realize that mr. bruce is no longer what he used to be(a decent bassist). I'm not saying i'm better(i realize i'm not and am able to admit that fact), but I am saying that he's obviously a little too full of himself.
As far as i'm concerned the only two "old" guys that can still rock out like they used to are mr. jack casady and mr. jorma kaukonen. if you go to their shows and close your eyes, it's just like live hot tuna from the 60s and 70s.
sorry about the rant, it's just my opinion.

I would argue that LZ has more current popularity than Cream
I actually just thought they were Clapton's band from back in the day
