As a mental health professional, I'd say both. He's putting on that face and pose, which is evidence of how bad his illness became...
That's actually pretty much right on. A very sad, lonely road he went down, that's for sure.
So, I dropped off my 4th deposit. Chris says that he's trying to get Kevin to start on it. Who knows. I'm starting to get the itch to get it. I only own one passive bass, and I love it's simplicity. This Jazz will be a handsome addition to my passive stable. I also only have $150 left in deposits to send in, so here's to hoping!

I mailed off my last deposit today. Time to get back in my chair and sit...and wait....
Bad news: he got the finish wrong. Fenders from that era had brown on the outside, not black. Also, they weren't very careful when spraying, so brown specs often made their way to the center(ish) part of the body. The custom shop even tends to get this stuff wrong (not sure why) so it's not that big a deal (to most), but people who know will spot it from a mile away. Sorry.

Thanks for the abundant supply of parade rain and wet blankets. I'm sure there's a million things on my TRIBUTE that one of these guitar demigods (The people who know) could say is inaccurate to the time and fabrication methods of the actual basses of that era. For instance, my bass lacks a strap button on the headstock, and I'm sure the decal isn't positioned exactly like the real deal. Like I told one other TBer who felt the need to remind me that this is not the real thing; it's a parts bass and I'm doing the best I can to pay tribute to Jaco via Kevin Kaufman. I'm not trying to make some sort of counterfeit bass and pass it off as something else. If I had deceitful intent, I wouldn't post this build on an open forum. So, I guess I will forever be labeled an imposter by "people who know"? I can live with that.

If it's a good bass, all this is a parlor game, angels on the head of a pin. The value of a bass is in the playing of said bass, not in the buying and selling, accuracy of the finish or anything else. No crime has been committed here.
The real question is, Where's the damned neck, so you can play the bass? This is what is driving ME crazy.
colcifer, you are quickly earning a reputation as a troll. My advice is to start carefully thinking before you post. Many, many forum users out there have been using forums for more than half of your lifetime. These types of posts can be seen through from miles away...
