.... I'm so depressed now. When I first saw this thread it was like finding a complete season DVD box set for a great TV show, because I could watch it all at one time. But now that I realize you are still waiting on the neck..... I'm bummed. All the work you did looks great though. Mucho props to you sir!

Jus about every post on this page exemplify why luthiers despise most YOUNG musicians, and some older ones too. It was well stated that the work would take time, along with all the other work, this is an attempt to recreate something that only he can do to be legit. When the next Jaco wannabe goes to him, hopefully he'll say "do it yourself".
If bassgod isn't whining, nobody else should be. IT'S NOT THE ONLY THING HE IS DOING.
He's going out on tour in June???I understand customer service, prompt turnaround, etc. For some people, instant gratification is the name of the game. However, my request is special and only one man on this planet can do it. Jaco had one main guy, and he is the only luthier for this project, IMO. I really have no choice. I'm so happy with his work that I don't mind waiting. Besides, I have 4 other basses to use, so its not a problem. Also, Kevin doesn't really do guitar repair/modification work anymore. It doesn't make the money that sound amplification does. He does it when he can so I hope he gets it done before he goes out on tour, in June. We'll see.
How many "Jaco" necks has he done anyway? is it something that people regularly have him do, or are you like, the only one who has asked him to do this?I have a feeling that this may be his final "Jaco" neck.
He really doesn't seem too eager to get started. The good side is, if it is his final "Jaco" neck...you will own the last one...which will make it even more special.
From that point of view, I'm with you on it being worth the wait.
