LOL! I'm well aware that us "Yanks" bastardized the language. It's just when I see words like "colour" it takes me back to my younger days when I was stationed in the UK. What a fantastic country to be in at 20 years of age. Ah memories!

I drop off my second deposit, next week. Holly was also telling me about how when they lay down the epoxy, bubbles form. I guess, they have like 24 hours to remove the bubbles via small pin, or it will harden like that. Stuff, my dumbass wouldn't think about.

More than likely they use a blow torch to remove the bubbles...at least that seems the most efficient way to do so.

You really insipire me. Even tough i dont have the tools, the experience or the money (sadly.. that piece of paper is the first step and will keep more steps to come) to build my own bass or even costumise one, it will always be my dream to become true one day. You are really teaching me something new everytime i read your topics and its must be really an amazing feeling to build those basses. Keep inspiring me! :hyper::p

Wow! Thank you. I'm glad my attempt at luthery is greeted with acceptance. Honestly, I've found more inspiration from those who read and comment on my threads. There are guys on TB that are building amazing basses. Since I lack the confidence and ability to do such a feat, I try to go a different rout by customizing tried and true existing designs. Aftermarket parts have come such a long way. In any event, I appreciate the kind words, and hope to keep the interest of the TB community with my next Frankenstein build.

I dropped off deposit #2, last Thursday. I was told that Kevin "may" get to it this month, since his vission his healing nicely. This bass has taken so long that I'm almost indifferent about it. I will be excited when I get it. However I'm just like, "whatever" when I'm told that Kevin will be getting it done soon. Sigh

You hoped it would be done by Christmas & he still hasn't even started.

I would tell them that if it wasn't started by St Patty's day, I "may" demand a refund and go elsewhere...or buy some System 3 and do it myself.

Yep, I'd be breaking out my "ass Hat" ;)

I think if this was any other build, I'd agree. However, the whole purpose behind the bass is "Jaco Mojo"... and getting this particular guy to do the work was one of the goals of the project.

But if this was any other project, I would feel the same way.

If it were any other project, I'd take my stuff and demand a refund. However, Kevin doing the neck is the whole point behind this project. I know good things come to those who wait.

Besides this, he's always gotten me my basses in a very timely manner.

I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. It just seems like the other day that you were looking at the possibility of getting this thing by Christmas, and now its March and he hasn't even started.
