Jad Freer tube preamp pedal for 2026?

:hyper::bassist:🔥

I know they've been working on a tube preamp for a few years, it seems to be coming soon now, and I'm sure we won't be dissapointed.

I can't wait.

Very curious to see what this turns out to be. If it's more like a Sushi Box Finally than a full fledged Preamp/DI/2 channeled or more with IR's, Bluetooth and headphone all in one type of thing I'd be very interested.

It would be cool to have a small box to add tube feel and saturation to the Capo.

I'm 99% positive it's a tube DI, I think Tim Lefebvre accidentally posted it on his story a couple of weeks ago. It was either him or Kevin Scott
That's what I think it is, from the size of the pedal on the photo compared to the Capo.

It makes sense for JF to make a perfect complement to the Capo (and no redundant EQ or tone shaping), but I wonder what "Jad Freer special touch" can they bring, in that already saturated market?

Whatever it is, it's going to be interesting to see.

Between this and the Walrus Audio IMA preamp coming soon, there will be a lot of new direct options for bass that are quite exciting

Is there any info available on the Walrus?
EDIT: sorry to be off topic this should be about the Jad Freer tube DI

Check Ian's studio tour live video he posted a few nights ago specifically 5 minutes in; so far what we know is that it's a transformer coupled DI box with the fullness that you'd expect from a Neve with the top end sparkle of an API; input and output transformer from what I can tell and it's scheduled to be made available mid December to early January

Any link to this video?

Looks like the Mantle is by Walrus Effects according to Ian's new IG story. Might be affordable!
Yeah, probably a lot more affordable than Jad Freer's pedal…

When they say:
built with the same uncompromising approach
Available in limited numbers (...) Once they're gone, they're gone — till the next handmade batch.

It means: "Prepare yourself for a high price (as usual)" :smug:
