First live rock band I ever saw was The James Gang, playing outdoors near the mall in Wash D.C. - if memory serves, that is--I musta been around 10-11 years old. I don't see it in their concert archives but I'm certain it was them, even though I barely knew what a guitar or bass even did at that point!

Greetings James Gang fans. Joe Walsh, Jimmy Fox and I have three upcoming gigs. On Sept .3 we're scheduled to play at Wembley Stadium In London, England for the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert held by the Foo Fighters, we were invited by Dave Grohl. Many other acts will play. A second tribute concert will be held in Los Angeles at the Forum sometime at the end of September. A third gig is Joe Walsh's annual Veterans Charity concert on November 13th at Nationwide arena in Columbus, Ohio. Nine Inch Nails and the Black Keys are also on the bill. All Ohio bands. Please come if you can.

Nice to hear from you Dale. Congratulations on your upcoming too cool for school mini-reunion tour. You, Jimmy Fox, and Joe Walsh made some really seminal music that has stood the test of time. Nice job!

I saw The James Gang in 1971 at the Salem Armory Auditorium in Oregon. The band was at their peak and set an attendance record for that venue. Joe played his Les Paul the whole night and then switched to a Strat for "The Bomber" which was the encore. A return date was quickly scheduled and ads were on the radio. Right after an ad played one of the KBZY DJ's let out that Joe Walsh had left the band which killed advance ticket sales causing the show to be canceled.

My favorite song is Midnight Man - Everything is so cool about this song: guitar riff, bass lines & drum, verse, bridge, the cool solo (typical Joe Walsh signature style) followed by the sweet and relaxing voice of the lady singer. Excellent song.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. The Wembley Stadium show is going to be broadcast the day of the show and on Paramount+, MTV and Pluto tv on demand after Sept. 5th. Look up the times. It's all over the internet.

My 1st concert was The Edgar Winter Group with Rick Derringer.
Opening were The James Gang, Bang era.
Opening tune, "Ride The Wind". I'll never forget it...was done as an instrumental 'cause Roy Kenner was lip-locked with some hottie that hopped on-stage. Kudos to the stage crew for not breaking it up.
