So my band used to have a great place to practice, at a band member's house. Unfortunately, that band member is moving and thus, we don't have a place to jam anymore.
We don't want to deal with rehearsal studios for a number of reasons. We don't feel like paying by the hour every time we practice. We don't want to deal with shoddy equipment. Blah blah blah.
The number one reason that we're having trouble finding a place to practice is the noise. We only have one other option right now, but because of the noise we would only be able to play until 5 or 6 in the afternoon, which creates schedule conflicts.
But today I was talking with a band-mate and we came across this little guy:

JamHub

It seems like exactly what we need. We can run the instruments through this thing and hear all the instruments through headphones. Our drummer has an electric drum kit as well, so we could literally run all 7 instruments through headphones and play wherever we want without disturbing the neighbors. Plus it has an output so we can record directly into a computer too! It seems great. It's a bit expensive (3 different models running up to about $700) but it looks like it might be worth it.
Has anyone here used this thing? Is it worth it? Does it work nicely? Any reviews or comments are welcome.

I bought the one with six channels I think name is green bus, me and the rest of the band love it, we run: acoustic guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocalist. Zero noise so you can practice 3 am and nobody will call the police, you can do your own mix, small , light , easy to operate. Perfect for us.

We boght it in American Musical Supply so we got advantage of the easy payment option.

Thanks for the info! How do you do your drums? Electric kit, or do you just mic up a regular set?
Also, they have a "Green Room" model and a "Tour Bus" model. I think you're mixing up the names ;)

E-drums, be sure to use the headphone output, you will also need the stereo connectors for bass and guitar so you can have sound in both channels, there are two connectors included in the package, you may also want to buy the headphone cable extensions so you can move around easily.

The cover project I'm in has one of these! They are the bees knees. Never have an issue with someone being too loud, cuz you can turn them down in your personal mix, as, everyone has their own mix. So for example, you can turn your obnoxious guitardist down, or your drummer up, or yourself up over everyone. Our model is the one which records wav files, so we have a recording of every practice, and has the remote auxiliary 7th channel.

I highly recommend these.

OK so me and a bandmate picked one up yesterday. We spent most of today tinkering with it and figuring out the basics. I gotta say, this thing is a godsend for just about any musician.
It's a tad bit complicated at first, just getting a feel for it and figuring out how to use all that it has to offer. But we're getting better with it and my first impression (after just a few hours of use and a little recording) is that this is a seriously valuable tool for any band.

I am glad you like it, the ability to do your own mix is a big plus to me, we havent use it for recording yet but for rehearsal is great, we have rehearsals at drummer's house, he has a one month old son and not complains from his wife of being too loud :hyper:
