Jamulus anyone else using this?

I’m not sure is this is posted in the correct place, so if not feel free to move as needed.
I recently was turned on the the Jamulus software that is a free download. It is a setup for jamming online. It took me a few days of playing around with getting my mixer with bass and my vocals connected to my laptop, but it works flawlessly
( so far)
I’m in southeastern Wisconsin and I was talking with and jamming with another bassist in DC this morning with no latency.
Now this is an audio only platform.
What weee your thoughts?

My main collaborator and I tried this about a year ago. He had a jamulus server set up on his end. Setup tweaked to the max, both hardware and software. I'm on gigabit FTTH but he's in a rural area about 30 minutes away. Latency was too much to be usable for us - likely due to him being rural. Like over 60ms most of the time, closer to 100ms at times. Seemed like the right solution for our needs, but couldn't get past that latency factor.

Based on the responses I have received here so far I am pleasantly surprised that so far I have not had any latency issues when connected to my studio band or others on Jamulus.
The reason we went this route is because I an a cancer patient 55 days after a stem cell transplant and have not be able to go to the studio since November.
Yesterday we connected and played together with the owner of the studio, who is the drummer, who also plays guitar.
We set some levels and I played bass and sang.
We had no trouble staying together and I could hear him and he was able to hear me.
How we plan to use this is I will be remote and the the rest of the guys will be in the studio.
So, that said this Sunday afternoon we will get everyone together and see how this goes.
There may be some tweaking of levels, but all indications so far are positive.
I will report back here to let you know how it goes

The price is right! I've had some good luck with Jamulus, but the quality (low vs high latency) depends on ideal internet performance, for all players. More than 4 nodes (players) and things can become unmanageable, in my experience.

All I can say is so far as long as the server ping rate is green I have been able to play with the others and we stay together based on what I hear in my headphones

I ha dgreat results with jamkazam and up to 4 others in a jam. As the pandemic wore in we lost our gusto and when jamkazam changed their costing model we jumped ship...jamulus might be worth checking out.

Yesterday I sat in with a singer in New York, and a guitarist in Jersey and it went well.
On Sunday my studio band will log on to my server with 4 guys at the studio and me at home.
I don’t anticipate any issues

I’ve used it with good results. Biggest issue for me is few people use it where I’m located. I have good latency to many servers in east coast US but they are rarely in use.

Apparently recently they did a demo at NAMM 2022 that impressed?

I don't know how they do it, as AFAIK the latency is built in to the Internet as we know it. Without creating a private wired WAN I'm not sure how this can be done.

I can only imagine that the hardware slows everyone down to the same latency and then lines everyone up together. The latency is there, but everyone is in sync. Musicians can then work with that.
