I tried searching budget and low-budget, as I too remember there being such a thread, but nothing came back.

My contribution is this: a 1973 Sunn Concert Bass Amp bought for $129 and and Acoustic 360 cabinet with 18" Cerwin-Vega(360 power amp missing) for $150...so $279 for both within blocks of my home.Peace and Happiness to all and Happy Holidays

i live in a old 60s councill house where some parts of the walls are actually made from just plasterboard. i have to be verry carefull where i put my amp because of it
I should hook my Peavey TNT 130's crossover output up to a power amp out of an old high school Intercom system and my 212. But that would be poser jank.
Practice space rig. Its a little bit janky, I think, because I am using a head (GK MB200) as a preamp into a power amp (QSC GX3) into two mismatched cabs (Avatar B210 and Acoustic B115).
My pictures are also pretty janky.

It's loud enough. Still working out tone, not blowing that Acoustic cab, etc. But I wanted a janky-A practice space rig, and, by gum, I got one.

SWR WorkingMan's 12 combo amp...amp blew up, cut the amp section out of it, install an old Carvin crossover sitting in my garage (for the tweeter), and voila! a 1x12 cabinet.
Bottom cab:
Old, used Avatar Cube 1x12 bought on ebay. Came with an Eminence Neo 12" in it (bonus!!!)
Amp:
Carvin BX500.
This mini-stack is SOOOOOO loud....I can't raise the volume over 1 at home (given Drive is set to 7 and graphic EQ is enabled, but "Active -dB" switch is as well).

Lol, those blue Ashdown speakers = auto-jank imho (like Hartke/Behringer but worse-looking). +1 for the sticker still on the amphead.
Reminds me of my first guitar rig: 60watt Sunn combo on top of a borrowed 80watt Peavey combo and a broken tube screamer. Sounded like I was down in a well.
i wouldn't consider all of ashdown's cabs with blue speakers jank. the abm series cabs were pretty good.
The more we learn about this mysterious mr mcsleazy from the city on the River Clyde, the more we like him.
You should stack that 2x10 and that bassman on their sides for some Jenga-jank.

Honestly, McSleazy's room reminds me of my own way back when, though the room was the only thing janky about it (Trace rig>>jank).
I was actually coveting that blue-coned Ashdown 15. It would go nicely with my louder home practice rig:

Here's mine:
Yamaha G100-II head and a pair of Sonic T15 PA cabinets (with the horns turned off).
The Yamaha makes a great bass amp, the clean channel is very Fendery and the overdrive channel, while not really high gain, is very bass friendly. Plus there is a single band parametric EQ section that affects both channels.
The Sonic T15s were purchased for next to nothing on eBay. They were essentially unused (a local business bought them for playing music in their factory area but had to go a different route to keep OSHA happy). They came from the factory with EVM 15L proline woofers!!!
Sounds amazingly good (and cost less that $300 complete)!!!

(or maybe just unscrew the logos and turn them upside down.)
Oh, what the heck. Turn EVERYTHING upside down, but leave the Yamaha on top. (Or maybe put the yamaha in the middle, upside down.)
