This little gem of jank sits right in front of me under my computer. I use it for checking the output of an instrument I'm working on, but the Vox Adio on top of the desk is what I use to practice.
Still, it has been used for keys in the past and still works so I keep it around. Besides - what would I get for it if I tried to sell it?

I used to have this janky Silvertone Acoustic archtop I found at a pawnshop in Denver and
Bought because it looked cool. The former owner had "set it up" for left handed play by losing the floating pickguard and "filing" the nut slots in the plastic nut. By "filing" I mean "melting them larger with a heated butter knife" or some such.
After a new nut and a couple different string sets I confirmed that yep, this thing sounds like beating on a trash can lid with some rebar. But I was all in by then...I was going to get a useful sound out of that sumbit if it killed me. So of course I janked a pickup onto it, off some 1960s Japanese cheese axe. That, plus experimenting with some alternate tunings and some acoustic amps, started to get some results, and one of the cooler sounding, ballsier, EQ-able amps for that application was the Crate CA-30. The other one was the Fender Acoustasonic jr., and I happened to find one of those first. But that Crate was, in the words of Dimebag, "a tight little unit."
The tuning I settled on had the low E down to C, and unison Bs on the top two strings. The thing that was cool about the Crate was how well it handled that low C note while also sounding crisp on the two Bs sort of chorusing against each other. That coaxial driver arrangement seemed to be pretty stout!
*amps that failed the Silvertone tone test due to having the wrong EQ range or whatever were the SWR California Blonde, Strawberry Blonde, Marshall AS series, the Trace Elliot line and the Yorkville AS series. The Ultrasound amps were pretty cool for that application but by then I had already found a good deal on an Acoustasonic Jr.

I don't buy any of that stuff. It's always overpriced anyway.
So I got a good vinatge cabinet, its sounds great, its 28lbs, gets pretty loud and doesnt need eq workarounds, had to patch the speakon (it was a combo but the amp had broken). So I now have a non-janky rig (at least when i get a lighter amp)

As I was driving home I dropped my friend off, and sitting by their door was this big heavy 1990 Sony stereo amp. They are like "came with the house its too heavy... take it"
So Im bragging to my wife a got a free amp with the cabinet deal, she was not excited for some reason.
So now moved to the basement, the tower of Jank is still at hand for... experiments... the Sony was 120w (at 8 ohms!) per channel, but one channels blown, still it will play my bass pretty loud before danger levels, and with the thrift store mixer its like a karaoke room.
