Japanese Bass identification *PLEASE HELP*

Hi, I found this bass, it's absolutely ruined - it's literally been shot from what I can see.

Anyone know what it is?

I'm gonna try and restore it, any advice would be much appreciated

No but looks pretty cool. Retrofuturism. If you haven’t already, I would loosen the truss rod if you’re not putting strings on it yet.

I dont think it's had strings on it for a long time

Not Japanese... that is an early-'70s WEM (a.k.a. Watkins or Wilson) Sapphire, made in England:

Called it right, it's a WEM or Watkins or even a Wilson.
