I asked about the input sensitivity and what changes are made to bass specific models and this was the response.

“You're right on about the input sensitivity . As long as your preamp is capable of at least 20db gain, you should be good to go with this mini-amp.
In any case, you'd be able to check it out to make sure. Only thing is, this next batch is already spoken for, so it might be a month or so wait. The beefed up power supply involves a couple additional capacitors to handle the extra low end signal.”

My Ampeg SVP-CL has an output of about .775 Volts
Would this be enough to drive this amp to full rated power output?

I picked one up on his back. Really awesome amp! I play A 5’r and have pretty hard touch. It has never once shut down on me. It also runs surprisingly cool with no fan. I have a 8 ohm 112 and 4 ohm 212.
I run an EHX English Muff’n into an MXR M80 and then to the amp. Plenty of gain.

Too much for most of my situations. I always play with FOH support though.

Are you running one cab or the other, or both cabs for a 2.67 Ohm load?

Is the amp 4 Ohms minimum, or is it rated to go lower?

Not sure if Jay has a formal warranty but he is a very honest and standup guy. I would not hesitate to recommend his amps. I’ve been using one for a few months now and it is excellent. Even at high volumes it runs cool (with no fan) and does not drop out.
More people should know about these. They’re an incredible deal!

That's my plan too except I'm planning to use a Verellen Meatsmoke preamp.
