Jazz 24 not working. HELP !!!!

Are you getting no sound at all, or just no EQ? The newer 24's have a bypass swich (push/pull volume pot). Also, I know it sounds dumb, but is you cord plugged all the way in?

Not that this helps, and hopefully I'm not throwing salt into the wound but my local GC had two of these basses on display when they first came out and neither one of them ever worked. I checked everything (battery, active/passive switch, etc.). I don't know if they are just produced with junk electronics or not, but depending on when you got yours I'm sure it is still under warranty. Although switching the elec. with a after market drop in may not be a bad idea either. I hope you're able to solve this issue quickly.
EMG has a drop in unit that has gotten pretty good reviews.

I have EMGs in all my basses and live by there power and tone.

EMG unit looks interesting, but that would require changing the pick ups.....the Jazz 24 has Seymore Duncans in it that are pretty sweet.
I would go with a replacement active preamp, when my Jazz 24 pre goes (hope it dont, but .....) I might go the Audere route ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]).
I already use one of there Jazz Plate pre's in a parts bass I built and LOVE it, figure the modules have to be good too, and I can use the Seymore Duncans already in there.

Did you check the battery leads and all pickup leads going to the preamp? Also check to see if the battery is properly seated. I had a active jazz once and this happened to me. No sound and I had just popped in a new battery. Finally I removed the battery and reinserted it making sure it was hitting the connections properly. Not sure if your battery box works the same way (flip up box, slide battery in and close box). But check all the wiring to make sure all wires are attached.

Take it as a reason to put a new pre in it. I never had any problems with the pre in my 24, but it wasn't that great. An audere or aguilar would be sweet!
