What are those knobs?

The knobs are a push/pull volume, an EMG active blend, and an EMG BQC 3 band EQ. Pulling up on the volume puts a passive treble cut on the neck PU and a passive inline bass cut cap on the bridge PU (at the expense of some loss of volume), so I can go from bassy to scooped to super bright and twangy just by turning the blend control (because it's a buffered blend control, the neck PU's treble cut has absolutely zero effect on the bridge PU).

That system sounds interesting, I might look into it. But i was referring to the knobs themselves, as in the things stuck onto the potentiometers

You can probably find something more artistic than sawn off screw heads but is it too late to ask the vendor if they can supply a pickguard without screw holes? I can't tell if B&B like my o-ring idea or are ridiculing it but an o-ring is just one implementation. The general idea is to use the pickup as an attachment point one way or another. I see that others are already expanding on that theme and that is what brainstorming is all about.

Yes, I suppose it might rattle and buzz but if you turn the volume up the audience will never notice. Surely even B&B will approve that notion....

A clear pickguard makes it more difficult. Probably lets any glue out that would not be totally clear.

I'm wondering two things now. One would be to go the O-ring holder but put a tiny dab of clear silicone bathtub sealer in each screw hole to make a kind of rubber "bumper" that would eliminate all rattles.

The other would be basically the same idea only press the pickguard down before the rubber sets up. The dabs would hold it in place and ...here's where the question comes in... usually silicone seal is pretty inert to finishes and peels off just by rubbing your finger over it once it's set up. So I suppose you'd need to test it see how the finish reacts. But a totally clear pickguard is a lot harder to hold on than one that is opaque. A pickup O-ring could work. Just try it. Who knows it might not rattle at all. Quick test with nothing to lose!
