Okay so I have a bit of a dilemma. I have a Warwick Corvette passive 4 string with the J/J pickup config. Next year I'm studying jazz and I've been told that the warwick probably isn't the best sound for jazz. I know the common answer to my question would be something along the lines of: "Personal opinion dude" but I want to put that aside for a while. My options are defretting my Warwick, obviously just the cost of defretting. Buying a Fender Jazz and defretting that, or really grabbing the jazz bull by the horns and getting an upright. Any thoughts would be very greatly appreciated! If someone has a Warwick like mine and can tell me that it would hold up fine in terms of getting that sound once defretted, that'd be swell
Also, with the Warwick, I'm having trouble getting it to still sound fat and full once I reach higher registers. It tends to get thin and cuts through like a razor blade rather than glides through like a knife in butter. Any help?
Cheers.
