Jazz pickups with serious growl?...

I'm looking for pickups with teeth but not overly trebly. A couple of examples of what I'm talking about would be Peavey Super Ferrite pickups or the Dimarzio pickups that are found in old Guild basses. Need something similar that is in a Jazz pickup enclosure. Any suggestions?

Seymour Duncan SJB-2 Hot are meant to be pretty growly as well, never used them but the P bass version is very growly and quite dark sounding so I think the Jazz version would be similarly growly and dark

Dimarzio J with 500k pots. EMG geezers would be great if they offered neck and bridge versions.

Bartolini 9S are amazingly grindy and thick, but they are true single coils.

Or, if you can find them, the growliest, warmest, loudest, best Bartolini jazz pickups ever produced were the 9w4 linear coil humbuckers, with the same growling tone as the legendary quad coil 94j quadraphonic pickups.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I came here to recommend the Dimarzio Model J as well. They are probably my all-time favorite J pickups ever made.

I have a J pickup that I'd recommend, but I feel that the Model J may have already been mentioned in this thread..

Not sure if you heard this name before but you should try DiMarzio Model J maybe?
