One other thing you can try is to remove the ground from your existing blend pot. There’s a thread floating around here somewhere that describes this in more detail, but basically it provides for a smoother blend between the two pickups. It doesn’t cost anything to try this, and if you don’t like it then you still have the option of replacing the entire plate.

I'll concede your first point on the basis of semantics.
If you have firsthand knowledge of the two, I would ask that you contribute more to the discussion than a mere grammar lesson. If neither is better, does one have a drawback that the other does not?

You missed the point. You can't compare the two in terms of good/best. They are different. The East Has a built-in contour and a bright function, and sweepable midrange with a number of other contour functions internally. The Audere has selections to control the way the pickups are loaded (Z-mode), a passive tone option. Bass and treble shelving controls are very different on the Audere.

What works for you may not make me happy. So how is it possible to say which is better? Is Variable loading a drawback? Are the wide frequency bands used in the shelving a drawback? Would it be better is the frequency bands were narrower? I think it's a matter of taste, not good/better.
