Jeff Berlin Bass Lesson Series

Listen to Jeff!! I did the one week intensive a month and a half ago. He is a phenomenal teacher. He knows his stuff, and cares deeply about the musical improvement of his students.

If you friend the Players School at Facebook, these lessons, either in video or written form, come up several times a week. Definitely worthy the time.

I know this sounds really dumb, but - it's not clear what order to listen to them in.

I will take a little time over the weekend and see if I can look at them and recommend a strategy.
Off the top of my head I'd say:
Major triads
Minor triads
Diminished triads and Augmented triads
Major 7 Chords (and Major 6 Chords)
Dominant 7 Chords
Minor 7 Chords (and Minor 7 Chords)
Minor 7 b5 Chords
Diminished Chords

Great lessons (very useful information) for a beginner. But i wonder if he as a teacher has more to offer.. These chord tone lessons (and learn to read and dont use a metronome) is the only thing he has been talking about for the last 30 years. Why dont you surprise us with something new maestro?

I wonder if he posted them in the order he intended them to be viewed? If so ThePlayersSchoolofMusic video page would list them by date posted.

Many of them are recorded on the same day.

They really should have put a sequence number on all of it.

For those of you wondering why the material doesn't sound New - it's because gold, simple truths of music don't change.

As well as being an amazing player, he's a gifted instructor, too.

Thanks Roy. I had being wondering about the best sequence to work on them. :)

Fantastic! Thanks so much. Jeff is a master player and teacher, has so much to share and does it so well.

So much to learn and nowhere near enough time these days. Damn, I've got to stop working so many hours so I can enjoy life and have time to learn things like this.

Thanks again and thank you Jeff!
