Jeff Berlin's sight reading book "Bass Mastery"

This book has been mentioned numerous times on TalkBass, I'm sure. I wanted to recommend this book that I've been working through for the last few weeks. It's a step-by-step guide to sight reading on bass. Since I've been using it, I've made tremendous progress, where every previous attempt I've made to learn how to read music has ended in me quitting out of frustration. Jeff breaks down the process into such small, easy-to-digest exercises that it's virtually impossible to get frustrated. You just follow the process. Anyway, just wanted to share a mini-review with you guys and gals, and encourage you to give this program a try, even if you've been frustrated with previous attempts to learn to sightread.

BTW, it not for "sight reading", and Berlin in fact has decried people try to do so. He has no problem at all with students going back, slowing down, and starting over until they work out what's causing them problems.

"Sight reading" by definition is reading something straight through without pause the very first time you see it.
