The intro is a 12-string bass. Assuming you don't have a 12-string bass... Anyone ever played this live? What did you do to try to replicate that sound?

I've used an octave pedal that worked pretty well. I don't remember what it was, I borrowed it from a friend from time to time years ago.

It can be emulated fairly well with an octave pedal. Lacking an octave pedal, tasteful EQ’ing can go a long way toward being convincing. It’s one of those songs where feel is everything when it comes to the bass part. If you can cop the swing naturally, the rest can be augmented with the tone knob, IMO.

As long as it does octave up with clean blend, it'll be close. Tc sub n up, pog, mooer tender, and digitech whammy pedal to name a few.

I've done it before using slap harmonics. Just smack the string(s) exactly 12 frets up from where your left hand is. Instant octave.
