Jerry Jemmott: Bass Player Clinic

Thanks for posting this video, it's been a while since I have watched it.
Jerry was one of the first bassists that I got into when starting out as a teenager. And, to this day, is still one of my favorites. In fact, my band was in the studio and one of the songs we were recording didn't sound right at the end of the song, so, on the way to the studio I was thinking of how to make it better. I channeled my inner Jerry and played something in the vein of what he played on Aretha's cover of The Weight. It was perfect for the song, and exactly what it needed. When I need a syncopated blues bassline with some greasy funk on it, I often ask myself What Would Jerry Do?
