Yes indeed.
The whole thing was just unfortunate from my reading on the timeline of what actually went down.
Somebody came to believe they had somehow been wronged. The accused party defended itself. People, (well intentioned and otherwise) egged this person on. Further words were exchanged and recriminations soon followed in their wake. And it ultimately turned into one huge unsightly mess. One where nobody emerged looking very good once the mud stopped flying.
Pretty sad. And a good lesson in how it’s generally not productive to get into pissing match on the web.
Sometimes it’s more important to ask yourself if something you heard is really important enough for you to feel the need to bother yourself about it at all.
Every moment of every day will happily provide you with someone else’s battle to get dragged into - or a martyr’s sword to fall on. That’s why it’s wise to pick your venues and restrict your involvement to issues that actually matter to you.

My 2 cents is that a lot of the tempest in the teacup was stirred up by Individual 1 that had a legitimate pov but unfairly focused that concern on jhs. Jhs attempted more than once to address said concerns but was refused. He has decided to remain silent on the subject letting his actions speak. Many in the community aka customer base still unfairly and without knowledge play into that BS.
Individual 1 is a person with a number of conflicts and unresolved issues business, personal and social.
As to the pedal issue that again was propagated by Individual 1 and was not fully accurate. There was some repackaging and profiteering on the part but not to the ridiculous extreme of the malicious rumor.
In a diverse community of pedal builders JHS only has one enemy and Individual 1 is problematic to put it kindly.

Rather than dish out a bunch of individual warnings l’ll just leave this here for all. There are reasons Talkbass has terms of use and all members should read and follow them. This forum has crossed the line on many fronts and is now closed.
