    Hey everyone,

I've recentally been given the Jimmy Blanton transcription of Body and Soul but can't find the recording to go with it. I know there are a few takes of this version but none of the ones I find match the transcription that I have.

The transcription I am looking at is the Jimmy Blanton and Duke Ellington duet of Body and Soul which is found in the book "The bass tradition" by Todd Coolman.

Does anyone know where I can find the exact recording to the transcription?

    Thank you,
    Toshi

As I recall, the transcription in Coolman's book is the second take of Body & Soul. Blanton phrases the melody similarly and plays a lot of the same licks in both takes (also interesting to think about), but there are slight differences in the way he plays all three takes.
