Jimmy Page? Meh!

THAT album, SRtS, was by far my favorite album back in highschool (I'm only 33). To me, all that "wanking" was tastefully done with plenty of dynamic interaction from the whole band. I remember Rain Song just ruining me to everything else ....non stop on my CD player ...LOL! He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think his status , as well as the rest of the band's, is more than well deserved and not honestly a questionable thing.

I'm so sorry, your highness, if the title I chose offended your sensibilities. Perhaps "I love Jimmy Page, but I have this teeny weeny problem with one or two of the songs he plays". Would that have been better?

Come on man. You're not a TB newbie, and you're obviously a smart guy. You start controversial threads and make controversial comments, you're gong to get labelled a turd-stirrer, you know that. Why get so defensive and derail your own thread? Man up and offer something of substance to your thesis instead of devolving into petty poop flinging. I think you'd command a little more respect, if that's of any interest to you.

OK, this is where I get off. Sheesh, you'd think I had raped somebody's mother with some of the vitriol spewed out my way. I guess this will be the last time I offer an opinion about one of everybody's favorite guitarist. Some of you here obviously can't take an opinion without going off the deep end. Fine, whatever. Calling me a troll and an idiot only makes the lot of you look like one. Don't worry, I'll be back. This isn't going to stop me. I have an opinion on something, I'll express it whether you all like it or not. It's still a free country as far as I can tell.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Carry on and enjoy yourselves.

A favorite quote of mine. I also like this little gem from George Carlin -
“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

This quote is attributed to not only Carlin, but Greg King, and Mark Twain with no clear definitive source for its origin. Funny to me how you used this particular quote, given Page/Plant's legal problems with copyright claims. :)

Before you start singing "Born in the USA," you may want to remember that this is a privately-owned forum and we aren't fans of hate threads and even have some rules against them. If you're going to make poorly stated declarations that you know will stir up trouble about one of the most well-known and influential guitarists of all time, don't whine when you take heat for it.
