Jive and Maki's Guide to Enjoying College

And that may be a good thing. Maybe we'd get our butts kicked in pickup basketball, but in terms of other things, we may have the edge.

- We know our limits. So while the kids are puking on themselves and passing out in bathrooms, we're be cool cucumbers ready to share our maturity and experience.

- We're old enough to buy beer. Nothing else needs to be said.

- We probably have some cash, which gives us an edge over most students. Anyone looking for a sugar daddy?

- We can talk about what it was like back in the day to the kids who are trying to recreate what it's like back in the day. "Like, OMG, you actually saw Journey live?"

- We have no parents to answer to.

I'm kinda liking the idea of going back to school. Only downside is that I'll have to run it by the wife.

You make some good points, but walking into a dorm party and everyone wondering if you're looking for your kid would also be a downside. However, as you mentioned, if you're carrying a couple cases of beer in the door, they might get past the age thing pretty quickly.

Let us know how it goes over with the wife.

My advice- The only people with ridiculously early classes are either commuters, or in a class that they really want. This really lessens your chance of scoring, or enjoying the class for that matter. I always try to set my schedule around the 11 AM mark. That way, I can get up a little early if I have a test that day, or I can sleep till 10:30 if I partied pretty hardcore.

Freshmen girls are your friend. Always.

Upperclassmen are your friends as well. I hooked up with a senior in my Poly Sci class because she thought I was a cute 'lil freshman. And believe me, it is true what they say about redheads. Plus she helped me get good grades in a class I really didn't want to be in.

I know this was already covered: Got to class. It isn't that hard just to show up and sit through a class. I had stats and just by showing up and playing the games on the calculator (and learning how to work the problems out on said clc) I made an 89 in that class, which was rounded up because of perfect attendance ;)
