Jmac's Nidacore/Composite- 215 cab build thread

You are totally right JohnK, My mind had wandered a bit as I found an image of the logo I was thinking of and it was completely different.

After quite a bit of thought, I think that I finally figured out which logo I'm gonna go with....

Classic script logo, ala Portaflex and Rocket series...

I'm not 100% on the exact placement, but I'm thinking it will look pretty classy on there.

Thoughts?

Okay, report from how the cab did on the gig... The cab sounded awesome, and worked really good. Again, I must say I love these speakers... I got a lot of compliments on the tone of My rig, from other Players at the venue and the sound Guy. If anyone is "on the fence" over the Faitals, let Me tell You they are one of the best sounding bass rig speakers I've ever heard.

Hey Josh, that should be an awesome setup with Your Genz. If/when You decide to build, let Me know If I can be of any help. Speakerhardware.com, has the flat pack kits or You can purchase only the speakers and crossover as a package deal as well. However, If You don't wanna go the DIY route, there are some builders around the forums that do awesome work.

Oh yea, thanks for the Complements on the tone Man!:D I was hearing it pretty good up there, but that stage seemed to be one of those "black-hole" stages that'll suck the life out of a lot of rigs...Like that big'ole Marshall, LOL :eek:!

The Nidafaital cab has a new home. Tb'er hibachiduck came by and picked it up last night. So it can now be seen on a regular basis, in the Augusta, GA area, with His band "Cameras, Guns, and Radio". Great group of Guys, with some very awesome music.

Here is a pic, with His amp and pedal board. It should sound really good, with the Genz Streamliner.

In not so many words - I got the FEARFUL bug.

In a lot more words - I loved the cab, but My recent move to the fearful 15/6-tube had Me on the fence about getting rid of it, as I wasn't using it. I had mentioned in a facebook conversation that I was considering selling it, so hibachiduck asked the "when, where and how much?" question. Needless to say, I made Him a really good deal on it. When loading it He was quite astonished at how light it was. His words were, "Wow, this thing is lighter than the Avatar 212 that I've been using.".
All that said, I hope He loves the cab and it works out great for Him. I really wanted to hear it with the Genz, but time constraints wouldn't allow.

Yeah, I'm absolutely loving this new cab! It was definitely worth the ~4 hours on the road to get it (well, let's be honest, the way I drive it was more like 3 hours and 20 minutes). Definitely a plus that I got to see a friend for a couple hours while picking it up too. It's nice to have a cab now that I can mic in the studio (I wasn't happy enough with my prior cabs to do so so I always DI'd). My Avatar B212 had the Burdizzos mod done on it (5" driver replacing the tweeter) and this thing actually can hit the highs louder than it can just with two 15" speakers! It's cool to have the cab I used to be jealous of every time I'd see JMac play!

My band's (Cameras, Guns, & Radios) working on mastering for our album, but a pre-master version of one of our songs is on Soundcloud in my signature (only plugging because JMac brought it up :p)

I met those guys at a city wide, pre bonnaroo festival in Manchester. They re killer! And a great bunch to hang out with.

Balog, I used a two component epoxy adhesive to glue everything together.
Around the time I was building and putting the thread together, I had asked one of the Fellas that got Me the panels how much they cost, and what means of distribution would be best for other DIY'ers. I never actually received a concrete answer, on either of the questions, so I kind of left it at that. From what I understood, most of the panels are custom built to order and sold by the pallet load quantity, which would be way out of reach for most anyone like Us who'd wanna use it to build a few cabs.
FWIW- I still have about five or six of the (2' X 4') panels left. I would be glad to let anyone who wanted/ needed them, have them for the cost of shipping or if someone was local they could come by and pick'em up for free of course.
