Job Interview

Update:

I spoke with the hiring manager again this morning. He's finishing interviews with the other two candidates and checking all our references, etc. He said that he hopes to make a decision fairly soon.

He also told me that 5 positions are being filled with the same HR certificate, and the top three candidates on the certificate (i'm ranked 2nd on the certificate) must be placed in a position (or withdraw from consideration) before lower ranked candidates are interviewed.

Bottom line is that I will have a job at that lab, it's just a matter of which section I will be working in and, when the position will start.

In the mean time, I will be getting ready for the eventual move.

Hey Man, I live in Barnstable (Marstons Mills), about 10-15 mins from Otis. Did you find a place to live yet? I hope it's nice- finding a decent place around here can be maddening, even for a native! But rents seem to be dropping, so beating up prospective landlords on price is not out of the question. I have a few friends who used to work for the USDA, and play poker weekly with a bunch of guys who work doing groundwater studies/remediation on Otis for Jacobs and CH2M Hill (don't drink well water if you live near the base!). I'm hellishly busy in the summer (2 jobs and 3-4 gigs per week) but might find some time to show you around if you are interested and want to PM me. Especially if this rain keeps up, as one of my jobs is completely weather-dependent. Welcome to Cape Cod! I came in too late to the conversation to help you with the bus from Logan question, but if you have any other questions about the Cape, let me know. I've lived here for almost 20 years and have played almost every dive bar and country club from Provincetown to Plymouth! Heck, maybe I could help you find a gig, if you want one. Anyway, PM me your cell # if you are interested. Otherwise, I'll see you around town!
