I'm so happy for him that he continues to collect royalties on big hits of Queen. Too many bassists have been relegated to "sideman" status, even when they're in the band.

Well put. I have the DVD's and CD's of the +Paul Rogers stuff. It's played well and the fans like seeing the hits played live, and I know Brian and Roger enjoy playing live, and who can deny them that pleasure?

But I'm quite glad they've called it a day as far as Queen +Paul Rogers goes, as I can't help but feel they've tarnished their own legacy by becoming the ultimate tribute act.

It is GREAT to see some recent pics of Deacy... especially some fro such an obviously happy occasion!

Queen is my second fave group (behind the Beatles), and I got to see thm on their News of the World tour...

He has written some of Queen's est songs, from his first offering on Sheer Heart Attack (Misfire - which has some great bass lines) through their biggest hits.

A great songwriter with an excellent ear for melody that always showed in his ass lines - heavy, yet sooooo listenable... and he is a terrific groove player as well.

Great news, John is an amazing and incredibly underrated bass player. His bass lines were amazing, I love his work on A Day at the Races, specially the tunes "Millionaire Waltz", "Long Away" and "You and I" (his very own composition).

I think that he plays some double bass on "Bring Back That Leroy Brown", on the album Sheer Heart Attack, please correct me if I'm wrong.

He played double bass on '39 and the little solo from "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" :bassist:
Anyway the first pic is from his eldest son wedding (Robert) while the second is from the wedding of his second son (Michael).
