John Entwistle live Philadelphia 1975

I've got blown away by this tone for months. I've done research everywhere but I couldnt find out which gear John was using. I did find a some recordings of it on youtube. Could someone help me out?
I'm talking about this recording specifically.

EDIT: I did find out about his gear from 1975, however his live tone here sounds different compared to "live in Leeds".

This was recorded at the Spectrum on what I believe was the final night of the tour. John opened for Humble Pie's "Goodbye Pie" farewell tour. It was originally released in 1996 as "King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents in Concert," but has been reissued several times under several titles.

It's hard to say for certain because Entwistle was constantly changing his basses and his setup, and I'd expect that was even more so for his solo stuff when he had the extra freedom to experiment - but if it was the mid-70s I'd guess he was either using an Alembic bass or one of his "Frankenstein" basses that had a Gibson body and a P-bass neck.

Here's his Frankenstein sound from 1974: Drowned, Charlton 1974

And here's a solo track of him playing an Alembic in 1978: Won't Get Fooled Again, Shepperton 1978

I think it'd probably be one of these. Hopefully there's an even bigger Who-nerd out there to help...

Edit to say he used a P-bass at Leeds, and I don't think he ever used a simple Fender (i.e. one he hadn't chopped up himself) much beyond 1970.

Further edit to say I know far more about this than is healthy

Mainly French horn and trumpet, but he could play any brass instrument with valves. He's got brass all over QUADROPHENIA and at least one song on each album featuring his horn(s).
