A couple of fantastic John's there. It still makes me sad that John A. has passed. I see John P. whenever I can.
Thanks for sharing this. John P has licks and chops up the bAss! Love him.

I really really wish John Patitucci would play a 5 or 6 string Upright bass too. He is already amazing, but I know he would kill it on a 5 or 6-string Upright bass! That would be quite a show. ;)

I really wonder what his next Album will be, I wasn't too into Back in Brooklyn, but that's just my taste difference. Definitely one of my favorite bassplayers that I grew up listening to when I was 15 years old.

That would be amazing! I'm just discovering his playing. I'd like to see an album from him with Brazilian influences.

My fellow bass-playing friend, you need to go purchase, listen on Spotify/Youtube , or go right now, to your local library and get his like 10+ solo albums, right now. He has one specific album even about that.

Go listen to all of his albums right now. Some you will really enjoy, and then some you probably won't want to listen to ever again haha. :smug:

I saw this band at a Sam Ash when I was in High School! I was blown away to say the least...The cd is cool but nothing compared to the cats live. I think there's a dvd available.

This is JP's Pollmann bass ("Bertha") and it has a removable neck.
The gizmo shown just past the nut may be used to keep the strings from unraveling in the pegbox and becoming tangled when the neck is removed.
Just a guess.
(Or, it is a magical device that makes him sound like JP!)
