JohnK Baximato

The JohnK Baximato is a Human Gear Animato clone with a Baxadall treble & bass tonestack.

Best dirt pedal Ive ever had the privilege of playing. Words really escape me with this one.

Looks nice, but I found only one on Reverb, sold, with this comment:

DUE TO A LIMITED SUPPLY OF THE SPECIFIC NOS GERMANIUM TRANSISTORS IN STOCK (required for this circuit), THIS IS AN EXTREMELY LIMITED EDITION. ONLY ONE IS AVAILABLE FOR ORDER!

@johnk_10 does some excellent reproductions of rare pedals often with very useful mods like adding the Bax stack on this one. I have a Systech Overdrive with an added active bass + treble that is an addition that makes it so much more useful while still retaining the original pedals unique sound. They are expensive but well worth the investment in my frugal opinion.

He still has one for sale.

That last one is mine actually…. No more now. I’ll give an update

I bought a Baximato years ago on it's initial release. One of the few pedals I still own from that time period. Although I am now a clean bass player and use zero dirt, it's just an amazing sounding pedal that I hope one day to find a use for.

I have owned 8-10 JohnK pedals over the years. All were top quality. The ones I currently have:

- Baximato (just like OP's, my favorite fuzz, keeping 4ever)
- Mostortion clone (my favorite OD/Dist, keeping 4ever)
- Cross-mix bi-amp-in-a-box (so useful, keeping 4ever)
- Gallien Kreuger 800B power amp simulator (still playing around with it, tbd)

I highly prize flexibility, so most of my gear works for both bass AND guitar. This is the big secret about a lot of JohnK's stuff: they're NOT just great for bass, but guitar, too!
