I had to laugh when he said he changed the electronics to an Audere preamp and Delano single pole pickups. The bass was a gift. It sounds good, but changing all of the electronics on a $5K bass is weird to me, but it does get his sound now.

Agree, seems a little... awkward changing out the electronics in a fairly expensive gift bass. But hey, it was a gift after all, assuming that the gift was not conditional to remain as-is. If he gets more use from it this way, then all's well.

He sure did!
Went into detail about it. He did say that he kept all the Sadowsky parts though. I liked that bit about; of course Audere is outta' bizniss, so I hadta' do what gotta' do...

True, but for most Sadowsky fans, the electronics are the heart of the bass. All sorts bodies can used for a Delano/Audere loaded bass. That said, it is his bass, and he knows what he likes. More to the point, he does mods for a living and the bass sounded great in the videos he recorded at church. I think it would have sounded great stock, but it was not my call.
