Hello all,

Well, finally got my bass and amp and also bought Hal Leonard's Complete Edition on Bass book 1-3 with CDs. Definitely going to be using it for sure. But I am also joining talkingbass.net as I feel Mark does an excellent job instructing. I am a beginner bass (though I do have guitar experience.) I am really looking forward to his courses for the beginner.

Only thing I am debating is whether or not to go with the $16.99/mo or buy the course for $85. That's my dilemma.

I'm late to the party but... I just signed up for the monthly. Potentially you could watch the videos once...then: I was able to download the pdfs and save them to my Google drive for future/permanent reference. So eventually I could cancel I guess. But currently I can study different lessons simultaneously which is cool...all of this material purchased together would be pretty expensive...but worth it!

I am a big fan of his teaching site. The Hal Leonard books are great but his site has also helped me a lot with building a bass line using chord charts. Many of the posts Malcom Amos has made on this forum like this one that summarizes a lot of good information are also helpful. How to learn the essentials to have fun

This thread has helped me a lot also. Pacman's sure-fire scale practice method
