Jule Amps Monique Part 2.

It appears that Studio Slips (studioslips.com) already has a gig bag that will fit, but since much of their work is custom I don't expect it will be difficult to come by a perfect protective case.

Once that is sorted out, can road cases that hold Minnie and Dovecage be far behind?
Both a Gig Bag and/or a Road Case can be made to happen.
The Minnie/Dovecage Gig Bag sounds like a handy thing to have. Probably a padded internal separation (flap) will suffice since the weight is so low.
Spoke to Susan at Studio Slips (very nice very friendly) and her idea is to extend the bottom of the existing Dove Cage Gig Bag so that the Minnie will sit below. A padded flap will separate the two.
As to a road box for those out there touring, I can have the good folks at Innerspace Cases build us up their usual incredibly road worthy (Reminds me of an Airplane Black Box) case too. Maybe just a taller version of the existing (for Dove Cage and Bamboo) road box. This time with a removable foam separation.
All good ideas come from the customer.
Very interested in the De-Monique (rack mount version)! Would like to know what knob controls the volume to the power amp since it is incorporated into the chassis? Will there be something like a master knob to control cab levels?

The 800 D Demeter Power Amp output level is controlled by the Line Out level of Monique.
Sorry if this was asked before...does the Dovecage have a handle on top as well? I didn't see any in the pics but just figured it would be worth asking.
Nope - handles are on both sides. Doesn't bother me that there isn't a top handle. It would screw up the aesthetic imho.

I've seen it posted that there are a lot of amps inside Monique. I like that slightly overdriven rock sound of the Orange BT500H. Is that one of them?

No, she has no handle on the top. There are handles on each side of the bottom (3" spacing) that are pretty handy.

Been following this thread for a while now. I have a Berg IP 112 that I've been trying to find the right pre for. This LOOKS like it will SOUND like what I want/need. Will this be OK in front of the Berg with the DSP and all? Anyone local to Boston who has one? Totally intrigued!

Happy to offer a tryout. Caveat: I have one of the first batch of the rackmount, which means it could have questionable tubes (I like the sound as is, but it doesn't get anywhere near grit unless everything goes to 11 with an active bass and sensitivity dialed and pulled out). I'm sure there are others.
Question regarding the De-Monique. The 800 Watt class D amp that comes with the combo, (or bought seperately), is this just a power amp, or can it be used as a stand alone amp without the Monique? Like if I was to run the Monique through an Eden head, I could unhook the Monique and just use the head. Is this a head or just a power amp? Sorry if that was totally redundant!!
Slightly overdriven.... Yes. A bit more overdriven if you really dig in. Not super distorted without a pedal of some kind.
In any case, I bought a SansAmp Bass Driver Programmable DI/pre today to get me the grit I need for metal. For $200, it is worth it for me if I play a ballad and a metal song back to back as an example.
In any case, the Monique sounds so killer, I passed on a mint Aggie DB750 with case for under $1000 today as well. The DB750 is one of my favourite amps but I have absolutely no amp GAS since I got Monique last year.
The more I play Monique, the more I love it. My Fodera is 2-3 weeks away.... I am expecting angels to sing when I plug that bass into Monique

what's funny is I actually put off trying my Fodera through the Monique after some bad results using it through my '64 Ampeg SB-12 fliptop. I just assumed Monique would sound better with my vintage Fenders or Fender-ish basses. To my surprise, the Fodera through the Monique turned out to be such a great combo it's made me completely rethink my sound to the point of ending endorsements....
Not to build up any more suspense....but just wait until you hear it!
