Almost a year and 1/2 and not a single Monique has seemingly been listed in the TB classifieds for sale.

Wow! This must be a first for a new product on TB. This says a lot about the Monique!

I know that there likely only a handful of these out there, but still.... the constantly GAS-ing and tone chasing TBers change gear like underwear.:D

I think I will be checking one of these out very soon! Need to look into shipping to Canada.:hyper::bassist:

To me gas is thinking that that new piece will have that elusive sound.(I've had some gas!) My experience is that Jule made Monique to meet a need. A need that already existed. For me it gave me all that had come and gone in the great '60/'70s tube amps.

There is one each in Norway, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, and four going to Australia. I'm sure your Monique can get to Canada. :)

I just got mine (in Australia) and it's great. I took her out to her first gig on Friday (after just arriving) and got a great sound with minimal tweaking. Then I went to a writing session on Sunday and the recording gave me the best tone I've ever laid down. As many have said there's real magic in the Sensitivity control. I was able to add the growl I've been chasing for years but without adding too much in the way of true over drive (sensitivity at about 1 o'clock).

What a great product, and Jule has been a real pleasure to ork with. If you're interested I say give it a go. Mine's not going anywhere.

Cheers

Ben

Would a Monique pair up well with one of the new GK powered cabs?

The GK folk are some of the best. I have been inside their gear, and it is all built like a brick. (That is a good thing :-))

As long is it takes an instrument, or a Line In, or an Effects Loop Input, you are in. If you want to post the Model of the Powered Cab, I'll check one out. A fun part of the job.

One of our players had to sell gear to get through life, and was forced to move on his original Monique. Life is unkiind some times.

It went to a good dude. And I got to add the latest upgrades to it.

I too have been at those times when the landlady ended up with what used to be my gear. Part of loving music, I suppose.

I am very glad to say that things have gotten better for this player (I consider him a personal friend) and he will soon add a second Monique to his stable of gear. Life gets good too. :-)

As for Canada, sometimes it is a good idea to walk across the border and pick stuff up - if possible. ;-)

Several in France. Some in Norway, Sweden, and Iceland too. Maybe because I spent my childhood outside the US, I feel I am a citizen of the world. I appreciate the extra $$ and work it is for my International customers to put Monique on their stage.

Shipping across the Atlantic is more than $300. And the Pacific is wider.

The Canadian border is so, so, well like Bill Murray said (in Stripes) about going into then Czechoslovakia, "like going into Wisconsin."LOL

I used the Rack Monique tonight with a rock band for the first time with my SNS Callowhill...I...I can't...there are no words. Amazing. :bawl::bassist::bawl:

Yeah, it's pretty good, innit?

On our rough recording the other night I left it set a bit more 'flat' than I normally do, just to hear what it does like that. Sounded great and I'm a bit sad that for our band I'll have to roll off more of the highs and a little of the mids to fit the mix correctly. I'm trying to figure out how I can keep some balance tonally for my own selfish reasons. ;)

Talkbass is indeed an epidemic and an addiction.. I'm going to start a thread to talk about how addicting it is. . . . . . .

And in regards to the Monique..... "I HAVE ANTS IN MY PANTS AND I NEED TO DANCE" I'm so anxious!!

That would be original... LOL!;)

In any case, Jule seems great to deal with and I am really looking forward to getting this thing.

P.S. My wife thought the Dove Cage was "cute", so that cost me more $$$ over my preferred rack mountable format. But.... any time the wife approves/recommends a gear purchase.... RUN WITH IT!!!:hyper::bassist:

That's exactly what she wants you to think. Enjoy your upcoming new pool ;)
