I have felt Micks picks as well they are thick and easy to grasp plus I sand the edges on some of them to give a softer attack.Carole Kaye said she used a hard guitar pick with flatwounds and mute. I think many other artists of that era used that combination too. I got a set of Mick’s picks : the green rubber ones and the felt ones. I like them with flatwounds. My problem with thin smooth plastic ones is I always drop them… so something with some grippy texture where it’s held and/or that is thicker helps. I do like the sound of a plastic pic on round wounds… that metallic grind kind of tone in some rock.
