Very nice. I love more subtle body woods like that. This proves perfectly that a cool bass doesn't have to be made of AAAAAAAAA quilted-flameo-supremo-bucko maple.
  8. Very nice bass. Play it in good health and have fun with it.

Really nice and very clean. Looks like it's been well taken care of. Did not expect to see the serial number in that particular location; I'm used to seeing them on the back of the headstock, but I'm not sure I've ever seen such an early Tobias before.

    What are the woods?

Koa, maple and wenge... I have never seen a serial number there either. I was told this was made for one of the early Tobias employees.

Has anyone else seen the serial number on the top of a Tobias headstock?

I bought it from a friend... I asked him why he was selling it and he said that he had several other Tobias basses.

  20. Very nice.

What year would that have been made?

I have a ‘94 Classic 5 Walnut/Purpleheart. I saw an ‘78 with exact wood specs (and possibly PU/preamp) to mine once online. Never seen those specs again.

    Enjoy. :D
