Well, Gard, after the Trojans' laying down last Saturday, there really isn't much of a comeback, is there? My only hope is we run the table, beat Cal, Oregon and ASU all on the road (hopefully all will be in the Top 10 when we play), and squeak in as a one-loss team. Not likely (squeaking in as a one-loss team, I mean), but doable on the field.

Regarding the P neck, my main player is a California Precision Special, with a ......you guessed it, a maple Jazz neck.

I had an informative chat with the ever helpful Anderson @ Modulus. A backbowed graphite neck CAN possibly be saved. The 'cure' would be to de-fret the neck and shave(i.e. sand) some relief back into the neck. The old heatbar/clamp method would effectively loosen any glue joints, etc., making for a not-so-nice neck. If you are the original owner, this WOULD BE a warranty issue and covered as such! Let me know if you are...

Honestly, I'm no longer sure if I'm the original owner (it was purchased in 1992 or1993), though I do remember that I bought it from my local Modulus dealer - I don't remember if I got the deal because it had been sitting in the store for so long or because someone else had bought it and traded it in within a year... In those days, I could simply call Geoff Gould when I had issues. But I'll ask my favorite bass salesman if he remembers...

Foggy memory eh?
No problem. Do check with your salesman tho, as it will be covered if you're the original owner. I've had a lag in response before from them but to be fair, I've experienced that with alot of manufacturers.

(Concerning ANY manufacturers calling back) It's all about what's going on when you call them (are they short handed, behind in production, putting out 'fires' (minor problems), etc... sometimes you can get right thru and sometimes you have to wait for a response... happens to all of them and it happens to us as well.

I have two questions.

First, when I turn knobs on my Fodera Yin Yang and on my Pedulla, there is static. I think it has been described is dirty pots, which means absolutely nothing to me. What, if anything, can I do about it?

Second, I had a six string F Bass made with a finger "ramp" between the two pickups. I have become so accustomed to it I can almost not play any of my other basses. It takes me 5 or 10 minutes before my fingers adjust. I would like ramps on all my basses between the pickups, but it sounds awfully expensive, especially when you factor in the shipping of the 8 basses that don't have it. I have thought of making a pencil "rub" of my basses between the pickups so that ramps could be cut, and I could screw them on, but I haven't the slightest idea where to send the rubs to get them done. Any ideas?
