What a nice instrument this is!
I got a BTB670 yesterday but after some playing and adjusting I concluded it was not my thing. Went back to the store today and saw this beautifull SR1200. Tried it out, adjusted the action a bit and I was sold. Very nice tone, like a refined Fender Jazz (yeah, I also tried one in the shop to compare it to).
The tone controls are also great, I like the on/off switch.
Craftmanship is topnotch on this one, frets are seated and leveled well, woodwork is excellent, hardware superb.
Very high value for the money!!!

I'm gonna take some pics this weekend and post 'm.

Now I have two Ibanez basses, the SR1200 and my RD500 which IMO is the ultimate in value for the money. The RD500 has allmost the sound of a marcus miller jazz if you want, for slapping it's a beast. The RS1200 is a different take on the jazzbass single coil sound, more refined but stil punchy.

Thnx for the positive comments.
After a few days of playing I must say that this is the best bass I ever owned, it's a real players instrument. It is also very sensitive to the touch, garrison/wooten technique sounds better on this bass then any other I owned.
In the shop I played an american fender jazz (which was a bit more expensive), it had lots of punch but the action was pretty high and I could allready hear some buzzing here and there.
I can recommend this bass to anyone who wants a responsive bass with a refined kinda fender jazz sound.

I've got to admit, I'm pretty jealous! I love my SR500 with upgraded USA Barts but the looks of that bass and the Nords just slay me. I've been craving something a bit more Jazz bass like lately, and I'm sure the Nords more than deliver in that department! Congrats!

I played one of these the day other too,
It was in need of a little adjustment but I liked the tone very much. I generally like most of the SR line but find the necks are too thin for me I favor BTB necks.

These nords are really nice!
I had this BTB670 just one day at home but I did not like the tone, especially past the 12th fret on the G-string. It was not very apparent when I played the bass in the shop on a Markbass amp but when I got home and tried it on my selfbuild 2x10 with coaxial mid/high driver the "real" tone of the bass came through....
The BTB670 has these MK2 Barts, not my cup of tea, but it's probably also the wood/construction of the whole bass.
The woods/construction of the SR1200 + Nords are a recipe for serious tone :bassist:

Seems like the tone on this beast gets better and better the more i play on it! What is also very apparent is that the type and gauge of the strings make a huge difference in tone on this bass. I'm gravitating towards a 40, 60, 80, 100 nickel plated set that gives me the flexibilty for thumping and fingerstyle. This bass makes me want to play it! :bassist:
