Ive been reading alot of posts where people with Ampeg SVT 7 Pros are running their amps at 3/4 master volume and having problems with it.
It brings to mind a bigger question or questions:
Who REALLY needs 1000 watts for onstage volume other than touring bands who are doing arenas (but most likely have multiple amps so they dont see this problem)?
And why is it that it seems that the newer class D amps are the ones having the problems handling it? Is it inadequate cooling? Design flaws? Lack of beta-testing? Lack of quality controls?
Or is it just problems with one particular manufacturer?
Yes I know that alot of us are getting older and want something higher powered and lighter-weight to take to a gig so we'll have a ton of clean headroom (if that's what we want).
I (probably as well as the rest of the world and some manufacturers) are waiting for your answers.
